March
just
flew by for us! Ashby was off track for half
the month and the last day of March
we went
on our trip to Hawaii. We
took a week trip sans the kids to celebrate our
10 year anniversary(a little early our anniversary
isn't until Aug). It
was so much fun. We had a blast and are so grateful we were
able
to go. My sister Kristi stayed
at our house for the week to watch our kids along with her
2 boys. She is amazing. The kids had a great time
with their Aunt and cousins. Grandma and Grandpa Bellows took the 2
oldest kids for a couple of days which they loved.
We stayed
on the island of Oahu. Since
it had been a long time since I had
gone to Hawaii and it was Ryan's 1st time we wanted to hit a lot
of tourist spots on that island. Our Hotel was fantastic and we
had a great time relaxing by the pool and on the beach
everyday.
We enjoyed a lot of shopping and nice dinners together. We even
saw quite a few movies too. Some of our favorite things we did
were
touring Pearl Harbor, watching a fireworks show on the
beach, finding
cool local spots to dine, eating dinner in China Town, renting
a car and checking out the whole island
including
the Polynesian
Cultural
Center,
the
Hawaii
Temple, and the Dole Pineapple Plantation, and going in a submarine!
We had
the time of our lives and are so glad we did it. It was so great
to spend a lot of quality time with your best friend without
the worries and the stress of life! We can't wait to bring the whole
family back one day when the kids are older. We loved it!
Before
Ashby went off track she was student of the month at school. She
was super excited! They get to eat pizza and cookies on the stage
in front of the whole school. They also give them a water bottle
and flashlight key chain. Ashby was in Heaven! I went and took
pictures of the day. It was fun to watch her shine. Ashby's school
also
did a karaoke lunch for fun on the last day of school. Ashby
was the lucky one picked to sing a song with the karaoke machine in
front of all the kids at lunch time. She chose "Zippity Doo Da".
It was
really
cute
and she had a great time doing it.
It has
been great to have Ashby off track. We made a list of fun things
to do while she was off. With a week left to go we have done most
of them! Some of the top things on the list: swimming at
Alf Sorsensen indoor pool, go to yogurt beach (our fave new dessert place; we
have done that multiple times!), movie night, game night,
High Ballocity, go to
the park,
and playdates
with friends.
Ryan
is still loving his new job thus far at NV
Energy as its Assistant General Counsel!!! It is already
less stress and less hours so everyone is happy. Ryan is
still enjoying his new calling in our ward as a High
Counselor. He recently was asked to conduct the dedication
of the new church that was built in Sun Valley. I was able to
attend as well as Ryan's parents (My Mom was able to watch the
kids for us . . thanks Mom!!). It was a beautiful dedication. The
building is gorgeous. What a blessing for the people in that area.
Ryan's assignment is still over the spanish branch in Sun Valley. He
is enjoying using his spanish from his mission he served in Chile Ryan
is still very much enjoying his Judgeship. It
continues to be a welcome change from the same old and even very
rewarding.
I
have been keeping busy with the kids and all their activities.
I have been still volunteering in Ashby's class every other week,
which
Ashby
loves. I helped put together a Valentine's party for her
class. It was really fun and the kids had a great time.
I am still serving
as
1st
counselor
in
the Primary
Presidency. I love teaching the children in our ward.
My
sister Kristi and I are very excited to announce that we have started
a Custom Digital Photo Card Business. We have some great custom
cards for all occasions, Holidays, or invitations. customphotocards.blogspot.com
Ashby is 7
years old now! I can't believe it! 7 sounds so old
but she is still our baby! She is having fun being off school
for a little bit. She is such a great big sister and
loves playing with Dalton and helps watch Brooks a
lot. One of her favorite things to do is still writing cards
to family and friends. She loves drawing, playing ga
mes,
and swimming! She loves to read new books with her Daddy about
presidents of the United States and Politics. She is
very creative and is always finding fun things to do. She
never gets bored or runs out of ideas. We
have noticed she is a very talented writer. She
loves to write detailed stories in her journal at
school. Her teachers were very impressed by her stories and
copied pages of her journal to share with other 1st grade teachers
and classes. Her
teachers have recommended her for the GATE program(for gifted
and talented learners). We are so grateful for a bright, sweet
child. Yay Ashby!! She is loving her
little dance class she goes to once a week. They
found out their performance in June is going to be Alice
in Wonderland! Ashby's class will be little rabbits.
The performance dates will be June 15th and 16th at
7:30pm at the Spanish Springs Theatre. The dance
they are learning for it is the hussle. It is turning out
really
cute. Ashby is still our little bookworm; when it is quiet
around the house
Ashby
is
usually
curled up
reading one of her chapter books somewhere. We enjoy watching
Ashby's spirituality grow. She is very intuitive and sensitive
to the Spirit. It is neat to watch this quality in her continue
to grow. She loves reading the scriptures with
us as a family and loves going to church and learning the Gospel
with her friends.
Dalton
is 4 years old. He
is a great little reader and
loves going to preschool 2 times a week. He
has really been into Math lately. He loves
to add numbers in his head, and count and measure things.
He
has a lot of good friends at school including his cousin
Ben. He
is so happy and excited when I pick him up. We have
been having several playdates with preschool buddies.
Dalton LOVES friends
and cousins. He is still obsessed with anything
Star Wars and loves playing the Wii.
Dalton continues to love his CTR 4 class at
church and
is learning a lot. He loves to read the scriptures
with us as a family and is really interested in all
the stories. He is quick
to remember things we have read together. He really
loves having and playing with friends. He makes new
friends quickly wherever we go. It is really cute.
He misses Ashby at school but is enjoying time with
me
and Brooks. Dalton
is a great big brother.
He will get me a diaper when I need one, hold Brooks,
and is very gentle and loving towards him. It is really
cute to watch
him. He is getting pretty good at writing his name.
He also likes drawing pictures or coloring in his Spiderman
book. He loves playing games on Daddy's iphone.
He has a great sense of humor and always has us laughing
at his antics.
Brooks
is 13 months now! We are sure enjoying this little
guy. He loves to play with the wind up push and pull cars.
He figured out by himself how they work. He will chase the
cars
around the wood floors for quite awhile.
He loves
to look out the window to the backyard
and watch the kids playing or just to see what is out there. He
loves playing in the curtains with
Dalton too. Those two will be cracking up together playing hide
and seek and yelling, "Boo!" to each other.
He still
loves to dance anytime music is playing. One of his new moves is
bobbing his head and moving it side to side. His other move is
swinging his arms across his chest. Lately he has been trying to
jump too
when
he walks around. It is hilarious.
Brooks
loves music. Anytime music comes on or we start singing for Family
Home Evening or in church he stops whatever he is doing and has
the biggest smile on his face.
Brooks
loves to write and scribble with pens or crayons. He still loves
reading books. He loves to be held.
He babbles
and talks a lot making all different sounds. His new word he says
lately is, "Yuck!" when he gets near
the toilet brush in the bathroom then walks away (this occurred
when we were gone to Hawaii).
Brooks
loves playing with these big foam swords we have.
He will carry one in each hand all around the house. It is so funny. He
loves to vacuum with his little toy vacuum and is obsessed
with the real vacuum. If someone is vacuuming he has to be in
their arms
the whole time watching intently.
All
the kids did really well while we were gone. Some cute and funny
things they said when we came back were: Dalton, "Kristi
is a really good Aunt!" Ashby, "I forgot what you look and
sounded like!" "We
had the best dinners ever while you were gone!" But the cutest
thing was when after we had been home a couple of days Ryan
came home from work and asked Dalton, "What was your favorite part
about
today?" and Dalton says, "When you came home!" How sweet/precious
is that?! Love these kids. We are so blessed.
