Next we had Ashby's dance performance. They have been working on the show Alice in Wonderland all year. This year Ashby's class were the Disco Bunnies. They did a dance to the Hussle it turned out really cute. Ashby had so much fun performing! She really oves being on stage and was smiling the WHOLE performance! We love watching her shine! She loved having so many people come watch her perform! Thanks to those who came, she loved having you there!
Ashby had her last day of school mid June! Yay!! We are so excited for her to be off track and have a little Summer break. It has been wonderful having her home. Of course Summer would not be complete around here without some serious swimming!! We have been going just about everyday since she has been done with school. It has been a blast!! The kids love to swim. We have been enjoying having friends and cousins over to swim which makes it a special treat for the kids. Dalton is so comfortable in the water now. He is swimming without his floaties and loves to dive for things underwater and jumps in from the side of the pool. It has been fun to watch him! Even little Brooks loves the pool. He is getting the hang of the ring float we have and is a riot to watch enjoy the water. He is always so happy! Cousins: Avery, Ashby, Dalton and Preston
The kids also have been enjoying our little wading pool in the backyard. They all love to slide down the slide (even little Brooks). I love watching them play and have so much fun together!
We finally started getting things ready for baby this month. We rearranged the exercise room (which will be Brooks' new room), so we can move the new baby into the nursery (Brooks' room now). It is exciting to see everything come together. We are excited for this little guy to get here. It will be here before we know it! Next
we had Father's Day. It was a pretty low-key day.
We went to church t We were able to arrange a nice dinner at one of our favorite places Vista Grille with just the adults to celebrate the Father's the day before. It was fun spending time visitng with Ryan's parents and brother Alex. Ryan is still loving his new job thus far at NV Energy as its Assistant General Counsel!!! He recently received a raise, promotion, and bonus. Way to go Ryan. I am really proud of him. It is already less stress and less hours so everyone is happy. He has been traveling to Las Vegas a lot (probably every other week) for a few days. Ryan is still enjoying his new calling in our ward as a High Counselor. He recently was asked to conduct the dedication of the new church that was built in Sun Valley. I was able to attend as well as Ryan's parents (My Mom was able to watch the kids for us . . thanks Mom!!). It was a beautiful dedication. The building is gorgeous. What a blessing for the people in that area. Ryan's assignment is still over the spanish branch in Sun Valley. He is enjoying using his spanish from his mission he served in Chile Ryan is still very much enjoying his Judgeship. It continues to be a welcome change from the same old and even very rewarding.
My sister Kristi and I are very excited to announce that we have started a Custom Digital Photo Card Business. We have some great custom cards for all occasions, Holidays, or invitations. customphotocards.blogspot.com Here is the latest birthday invite I designed for Dalton's Birthday (which is coming up quickly):
She
was tested for the Gifted
and Talented program for our school district
and we are pleased to report she passed with flying
colors scoring in the 99th percentile! Ashby
was very dissappointed
she will have to wait until 3rd grade to ride
the bus and participate the in the program (b/c of
budget cuts their will be no 2nd grade program). Our
little second
grader will go back to School on July 25th. So crazy!!
Time is just
flying by. She is such a great
big sister and loves playing with Dalton and
helps watch Brooks a lot. One of her favorite things
to do is still
writing
cards
to family and friends. She loves drawing, playing games,
and swimming! She loves to read new books with her Daddy
about presidents of the United States and Politics. She
is very creative and is always finding fun things to
do. She
never gets bored or runs out of ideas. We
have noticed she is a Ashby got her ears pierced this month!! She was so excited and had been working really hard to earn it. We had a list of responsibilities and chores that she had to complete every day for 2 months without missing a day. She was amazing and never missed a day. So we all went to the mall on a Friday night as a family and had them done. She was so brave and said it didn't really hurt. Afterwards we all enjoyed a Dairy Queen treat together. She was soooo happy and has been so excited to finally get her ears pierced! Ashby is still our little bookworm; when it is quiet around the house Ashby is usually curled up reading one of her chapter books somewhere. We enjoy watching Ashby's spirituality grow. She is very intuitive and sensitive to the Spirit. It is neat to watch this quality in her continue to grow. She loves reading the scriptures with us as a family and loves going to church and learning the Gospel with her friends. Dalton
is 4 years
old and getting ready to turn 5 next month! He
is really excited He is a great little reader already and loves going to preschool 2 times a week. His last day of preschool will be this Thursday. He will put the arms and different parts in the holes all by himself. He will also sit and play with magnetic blocks for quite awhile. He is very busy and gets into everything. He figured out how to climb on our couches by himself this month. He will climb up and then play with the shutters or light switches. He can
use a fork & spoon pretty well for food now and loves to feed
himself. He loves to drink from a straw. He is pretty much done
with baby food
and
prefers
whatever we are eating. He is totally pushing
the limits and
