February is always a crazy busy month for us. We celebrated 2 birthdays in our family along with many others in our extended family. Then there is Valentine's Day, and oh yes we found out we are having another sweet boy! It will be so fun for the three boys to be so close. Ashby was excited too for "another stinky brother!" lol. Baby was healthy and well. We are truly blessed.

February brought us a lot of snow this year. The kids had one snow day with no school and several delayed starts from the snow. They had a lot of fun sledding down a hill near our house, building a snowman, and having snowball fights in the backyard!

We celebrated Brooks' 1st birthday on the 12th of the month. It was fun to have the family all together to celebrate this event. Brooks enjoyed all the company and loved eating his cake. He loved all his presents especially the books. He loves reading books!

Next we had Valentine's Day. This year we enjoyed giving the kids special Valentine's notes in their mailboxes the weeks leading up to V-Day. Then on Valentine's we put some extra presents and goodies in their mailboxes for them to open that morning. The kids had so much fun opening their mailboxes and reading all the love notes and seeing their special presents.

Next was Ashby's 7th Birthday on the 18th. We had a fun dance party at our house for her. School ended up being cancelled on her bday because of the snow. She was dissappointed she couldn't bring the class her cupcakes, but on the upside she was able to stay home, play in the snow, help decorate for the party, and go on a special outing with Dad (which included picking out her new pet fish!). She had a great birthday!

Ashby's basketball season ended this month at the YMCA. She LOVES basketball and had so much fun. She scored quite a few baskets and was a good the little dribbler. She was one of the few kids out there that would dribble without traveling or double dribbling. It was fun watching her improve and enjoy each game. I think we definitely have a b-ball player in our family now. She is hooked! She even picked out a mini-hoop for her door to her room at Scheel's for one of her bday presents.

Ryan is still loving his new job thus far at NV Energy as its Assistant General Counsel!!! It is already less stress and less hours so everyone is happy.Ryan is still enjoying his new calling in our ward as a High Counselor. He recently was asked to conduct the dedication of the new church that was built in Sun Valley. I was able to attend as well as Ryan's parents (My Mom was able to watch the kids for us . . thanks Mom!!). It was a beautiful dedication. The building is gorgeous. What a blessing for the people in that area. Ryan's assignment is still over the spanish branch in Sun Valley. He is enjoying using his spanish from his mission he served in Chile Ryan is still very much enjoying his Judgeship. It continues to be a welcome change from the same old and even very rewarding.

I have been keeping busy with the kids and all their activities. Ryan and I decided to take a trip to Hawaii sans the kids for our 10 year anniversary the end of March. Our anniversary isn't actually until August, but with the baby being born in July we figured this was a much better time to go! We are so excited!! My brother and his sweet wife are going to watch the kids for us. We can't wait!! I have been still voluntering in Ashby's class every other week, which Ashby loves. I helped put together a Valentine's party for her class. It was really fun and the kids had a great time. I am still serving as 1st counselor in the Primary Presidency. I love teaching the children in our ward.

My sister Kristi and I are very excited to announce that we have started a Custom Digital Photo Card Business. We have some great custom cards for all occasions, Holidays, or invitations. customphotocards.blogspot.com

Ashby is 7 years old now! I can't believe it! 7 sounds so old but she is still our baby! She had a great birthday party with the family. Ashby was thrilled to finally get a pet fish! She had a blast at her dance party and enjoyed having her day! She still loves 1st grade. She really enjoys reading, writing, spelling math, computers and music. She loves school and learning. She is excited to go everyday. We have noticed she is a very talented writer. She loves to write detailed stories in her journal at school. Her teachers were very impressed by her stories and copied pages of her journal to share with other 1st grade teachers and classes. Her teachers have reccommended her for the GATE program(for gifted and talented learners). We are so grateful for a bright, sweet child. Yay Ashby!! She is loving her little dance class she goes to once a week. They found out their performance in June is going to be Alice in Wonderland! Ashby's class will be little rabbits. The dance they are learning for it is the hussle. It is turning out really cute. Ashby is still our little bookworm; when it is quiet around the house Ashby is usually curled up reading one of her chapter books somewhere. We enjoy watching Ashby's spirituality grow. She is very intuitive and sensitive to the Spirit. It is neat to watch this quality in her continue to grow. She loves reading the scriptures with us as a family and loves going to church and learning the Gospel with her friends.

Dalton is 4 years old. He is a great little reader. The stories he is reading during his reading lessons are at a solid 2nd grade reading level. Not too shabby for a 4 year old! He has a good memory and we have been working on the 30 sight words for Kindergarten. He knows them all now. He loves going to preschool 2 days a week. He is so happy and excited when I pick him up. We have been having several playdates with preschool buddies. Dalton LOVES friends and cousins. He is still obsessed with anything Star Wars and loves playing the Wii. Dalton contiues to love his CTR 4 class at church and is learning a lot. He loves to read the scriptures with us as a family and is really interested in all the stories. He is quick to remember things we have read together. He really loves having and playing with friends. He misses Ashby at school but is enjoying time with me and Brooks. Dalton is a great big brother. He will get me a diaper when I need one, hold Brooks, and is very gentle and loving towards him. It is really cute to watch him. He is getting pretty good at writing his name. He also likes drawing pictures of people. I love when they start to do that it is so cute. He is pretty proud of himself for memorizing our phone number and will call it with Daddy's cell phone. He thinks that is really hilarious!! Some of the things Dalton says are so funny. He is really into how old he will be when Ashby is 12, 14, 20, 40 etc. He asks me daily these types of questions.

Brooks is 1 year old now! We are sure enjoying this little guy. He had a fun Birthday. He loved having everyone sing Happy Birthday to him, eating his cake (face first), and opening his presents. Brooks loves people! He loves having all the family around him. He loves to smile and laugh. Often he will just laugh and chuckle to himself while he is walking around the house.

A few things I would like to remember about Brooks at this age:

-He loves music! When he hears music he starts to dance by bobbing up and down and waving his arms like crazy. He smiles so big and claps his hands to the beat. In church or if we sing during FHE he immediately stops and listens to us sing then starts waving his hands like he is leading the music.
-He loves to play with balls (especially basketballs). He loves to chase balls all around our kitchen on the hard wood floors.
Brooks loves cars. He will get on his hands and knees and push a toy car around just like his older brother. It cracks me up. Ashby never did that with cars as a baby. It is amazing all the differences between boys and girls.

-Brooks loves books. Especially ones with touch and feel things or flaps. He loves being read to by Mom, Dad, Ashby or Dalton.
-He loves "wrestling" and playing with Dalton. If you are sitting down on the floor Brooks loves to come up behind you and try to get you. He laughs and smiles and thinks it is so funny.

-Brooks loves going down the slide in our house with Ashby or Dalton holding him. He could do it again and again!
-Brooks still loves baby food along with regular food. He loves the Gerber yogurt whips for snacks. The only things I've found he doesn't like are peaches or prunes. He loves blueberries!!

- He is a very happy and content baby. He is fun to be around and we love seeing him smile. He loves to wave and smile at people.
-Brooks loves the stairs. He can go up the stairs very fast. He is learning to go down the stairs backwards the safe way but hasn't quite mastered it yet. He loves to walk everywhere and fast. We have trouble keeping him out of the bathrooms, the pantry, fridge or anything else that is left open and he shouldn't be in.

-Brooks is really getting attached to Ashby now. If he is upset he will put up his arms for her to hold and comfort him. He views her as a safe reliable caretaker now I think.

-Brooks is a great sleeper still and will go 12 hours straight. He loves his crib and does great with 2 or 3 naps a day. He still goes to bed early between 6-7pm.

-Brooks still adores his Daddy and gets so excited to see him come into the room. Even the mention of the name Daddy gets a reaction from Brooks. He likes to babble a lot and say a few words like mama, dada, baba (for bottle), mmmm for more, da for duck.
-He loves being in on the action that is going on around him. Brooks really enjoys places with lots of people and noise.
-He loves when people wear hats or have facial hair. Both his grandpa's have facial hair so I think that is why he likes it so much.

-He loves crawling through and playing in tunnels.
-He has 7 teeth total (3 bottom and 4 top)
- He loves being able to walk around now and is pretty much obsessed with it. All he does all day long is just walk around into every different room of the house.

-Brooks can cry really loud too when he gets upset or hurt (which isn't very often).
-Brooks learned to drink from a straw and out of a water bottle. It is quite funny to watch.
-He is good in the car seat shuffling kids from here to there most of the day.
-Brooks LOVES bath time.

-Even though he is busy he still likes to be held and will let you hold or just "chill" with him on the couch(which I love).
