What a fun summer we have had already. July was a fun and crazy busy month for us (sorry for the length and pics...I had a hard time fitting it all in!!). We decided on a whim to take family pictures again before Ashby started school. My favorite photographers my sisters Kristi and Shelli were out of town so we asked my brother Michael to take the pics. We were very pleased with his photography skills!! Thanks again Michael!! We had a great 4th of July this year. We went to our Ward's 4th of July breakfast in the morning. The food was super yummy and the kids loved hanging out with all their friends from church. Then we went to our pool as a family and did some swimming. The pool was empty and we had the place to ourselves. It was awesome!! Then we had Rich and Cheri over for dinner. Ryan wanted to try and grill homemade pizzas on the barbeque. You can buy great pizza dough (it is cheap too...only $1.29/pack) from Trader Joe's. The pizzas turned out super yummy. It was a definite hit! Then we headed to the movie "UP" after dinner with the kids and Grandma and Grandpa. Everyone liked the movie and had a good time. We hurried back to my parents house to watch the fireworks. They have a fantastic view of the whole city. The kids had a blast playing with poppers and small fireworks in the backyard. Ashby started Kindergarten the beginning of July. Actually her 1st day of school was on Ryan's birthday! Right in the middle of Summer! We have year-round school here. She was super excited to start though and has LOVED going to school every day. Dalton and Mommy miss Ashby while she is gone but luckily it is only 1/2 day Kindergarten, so we get to have her home for most of the day. Next was Dalton's 3rd birthday and Ryan's 30th birthday. Dalton had a Spiderman party at our house. He was thrilled to see all his family there. He was so happy the whole party and loved all his presents. I didn't get any pics of Ryan's bday. We were able to make it out to dinner without the kids and then do some shopping. We had a great time.

Other fun family activities in July we did were Rancho San Rafael Park for Pony Rides, Log flume, petting zoo, and Life-size Dinosaur fun.

RENO ACES game for Ryan's firm's summer get together. They rented out a patio and provided a yummy dinner. The kids LOVED it!

Pioneer Day Celebration breakfast. Our stake put on a marvelous pancake breakfast near a park complete with pioneer games. It was great!

Ashby playing a water pioneer game.

The end of July we decided to make a trip to Colorado to visit my sister and her family for 1 week. My sister's youngest son Ty was getting baptized. We decided to fly there and make it our family vacation. We had such a BLAST!! Shelli and Dan were amazing hosts. We were able to visit Dan's parents cabin near Estes Park for a night. It was awesome!! The kids were able to fish on a lake right outside the cabin, ride in a canoe and explore the outdoors. They loved it! The scenery and the placement of the cabin are unbelievable!! The cabin is situated right on the lake. You walk out the back deck and down the steps and you are on the lake. It is surrounded by beautiful pine trees. We drove up to Estes Park for the day and did some shopping, race cars, and the big slide. Everyone had so much fun. The cousins had a great time playing together while we were there. Dalton was especially attached to Aubrey. He followed her everywhere and obeyed her every command. It was great!! We took them shopping, out to restaraunts, swimming at the coolest indoor community pool (it had a lazy river, water slides, water play squirters, etc), and had fun playing games at Shelli's house. Ty's baptism was very neat. He was very ready, excited, and happy. It was very special to be a part of it. We were so glad we went!

Ryan had his first day on the job as a Judge this month. He came home very excited and said everything went great. He said he already loves how rewarding it is. Ryan had been very busy lately putting in some good hours. We were glad to have him home when he was not working! Ryan has also been playing basketball Saturday mornings at the church with some other guys. It has been fun for him. He also started a business with some friends in town putting on local concerts. The opening concert will be August 8th.

Stefani is keeping busy with the kids. I am saving the money I earn for vacations this summer. We are planning to go to Disneyland again and a few other short trips. I have gotten some more website jobs to design, so I am excited about that. I am still running every day on the treadmill and loving it.

My sister Kristi and I are very excited to announce that we have started a Custom Digital Photo Card Business. We have some great custom cards for all occasions, Holidays, or invitations. customphotocards.blogspot.com

Ashby is 5 years old now! She has already had about a month of Kindergarten under her belt. She loves it and every day she comes home excited and happy about school. She is enjoying doing real homework from school now. She usually insists we do it right when she gets home. She is funny that way. We signed Ashby up to play AYSO soccer in the Fall. She is really excited to start playing. Ashby still loves to read. She enjoys reading chapter books from the library. We discovered a new favorite series that she LOVES called "The Secrets of Droon" & the "Bailey School Kids". She She loves doing "homework" and will do pages from workbooks all by herself without being told to do so during quiet time each day. What a kid! She has really enjoyed swimming at our pool a couple of times a week. She is getting to be a good little swimmer. She continues to be a big helper for me around the house. She loves helping clean and fold laundry (I'm enjoying it while it lasts!!). :)

Dalton just turned 3 years old. So far 3's are marvelous! Dalton seems to be getting more mature and more willing to compromise. So that is good. He is truly a sweet little boy. We enjoy having in our family so much. He had a great birthday & party. He loved all his presents and seeing everyone he loves at his party. On our trip to Colorado he became quickly attached to his cousin Aubrey. She was his 2nd mother. It was true love! He followed her everywhere and would do whatever she told him to. It was great!! He loves talking on the phone to anyone who will listen. He loves to sing and knows a lot of songs by heart including, "We thank thee oh God for a Prophet, I love to See the Temple, and My Eternal Family (the new song the kids in Primary are learning). He loves to read books, especially those with scary characters in them. Some of his favorites include Star Wars Jabba the Hutt book, and Transformers robot book. He still loves special outings with Papa Bellows or his Daddy. He loves playing with Ashby and all her friends. He tries to keep up with them and play anything they are playing with. He continues to be an active, fun-loving little guy. We sure love him.
