Making
Cookies
(This time
of year is fun to make and decorate cookies, cupcakes, or whatever
you like!)
Materials :
- Ingredients for cookies
- Pre-made Sugar cookies
(if you are going to have the children just decorate them)
- Bowl
- Spoon
- Apron
- Pan
- Frosting
- Sprinkles & other
decorations
Directions:
- Have child help you
make the cookies (I personally love the Betty Crocker packaged
cookie mix; it is easy to do with kids because all you have to
add is an egg & butter)
- They can pour ingredients,
stir, and even crack an egg (if you're brave!)
- Talk with them about
what a recipe is & how to follow the directions. Tell them
what & how much of the ingredients you are supposed to put in the
bowl (this is good practice with counting, fractions, measuring,
etc.).
- If you are just having
them decorate cookies make the cookies ahead of time and set out
plenty of frosting & decorations for them to use.
